2012 / 2013 Winter Dressage Challenge
For this Winters Dressage Competitions we are very lucky to have been accepted as
Qualifying Centre for Crick lands once again. We have also decided to hold our own
Spring Championship. Over the Duration of the six qualifying dates we will be putting
points to placing's and keeping them to tally up at the end of the season and the
person with the most points wins the Challenge Cup.
BLEC Challenge / Championship Rules
For BLEC’s Championship you MUST place in the top six with over 55% to Qualify our
May Championship.
The Challenge will give points to the top 6 placing's in every class from the start
of the challenge to the end. These at the end of the Challenge will be added together
to determine which rider gets the Challenge Cup.
To Qualify Cricklands you enter a Prelim or a Novice. If you are placed in the top
six with a Percentage over 58% you will be given a Qualifying Card.
Cricklands Qualifying Rules
You earn points for each placing throughout the competitions held at BLEC. These
points are as follows - 1st place = 6 points. -2nd place = 5 points. -3rd place =
4 points. -4th place = 3 points. -5th place = 2 points. -6th place = 1 point.

At our Championship Show after the riders have been, there are points earned for
placing at the Championship show... We will give out the Winner of the Challenge
Cup that they get to keep.
- You are ALLOWED to have your test read
- You are ALLOWED a Whip that does not exceed 110cm in all classes
- You are NOT allowed Spurs in Walk and Trot Classes
- You are ONLY allowed Spurs bit exceeding 1cm with point facing down in Preliminary
and Novice Classes
- You are ONLY to ride in a Snaffle Bit
- You are ONLY to ride in a Cavesson, Flash, or Drop Noseband
- The dress code is smart/casual
- Gloves are MANDATORY
- You are NOT allowed to have a breastplates or Martingales
- You are NOT allowed training aids of any description including when warming up
- You are allowed lead reins and people within the arena to give guidance in walk and
trot classes only.
- IF you QUALIFY a set rider and horse, you are to compete in the Championship with
that rider and horse... No changes!!!
- Let us know if you are late or need more time to warm up -we will try to aid where
possible
- A different horse / rider combination may enter as many times in the same class,
as long as its not the same combination each time
- A riding hat with correct standards MUST be worn at all times when mounted with Chinstraps
fastened at all times
- All Children under 16years of age MUST be supervised by an Adult at all times
- Plaiting is not a requirement but is preferred
- No Boots or Bandages are to be worn during test but may be used for warming up
- Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
- If a horse seems lame, the Steward and or Judge will be notified and you may not
be able to compete
- No horse or pony is to be tied up to the fencing around the show ground
- Pre-entry only
This is a FUN Dressage for Children, Novice horses and Novice riders, as WELL as
the Qualifiers for those who wish to attempt Qualification.
